Day 1

Depart Hong Kong - Fly to Chengdu

No meals

Depart Hong Kong International Airport and fly to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province (approximately 2.5 hours). Transfer to your hotel in the city center. Evening free to explore Chengdu's famous food scene, visit Jinli Ancient Street, or see the adorable giant pandas at the Chengdu Research Base if time permits.

Day 2

Chengdu to Nyingchi - Low Altitude Entry (2,950m)

Morning flight from Chengdu to Nyingchi (1.5 hours). Nyingchi's low altitude of 2,950m makes it ideal for gradual acclimatization, significantly reducing the risk of altitude sickness. Afternoon visit to the stunning Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Overnight in Nyingchi.

Day 3

Nyingchi Sightseeing - Basum Tso Lake

Explore the beautiful Nyingchi region, often called 'Tibet's Switzerland' for its lush forests and snow-capped peaks. Visit Basum Tso Lake, known for its stunning turquoise waters surrounded by forested mountains and snow peaks. Visit local Tibetan villages and ancient temples.

Day 4

Nyingchi to Lhasa by Road (400km)

Scenic drive from Nyingchi to Lhasa through the Milha Mountain Pass (5,018m). The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours with spectacular views of the Nyenchen Tanglha mountain range. Arrive in Lhasa late afternoon. Rest at your hotel.

Day 5

Lhasa - Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple

Full day exploring Lhasa's spiritual heart. Visit the Potala Palace, the iconic 13-story winter residence of the Dalai Lamas. In the afternoon, visit the sacred Jokhang Temple and walk the Barkhor kora circuit around the old city. Explore the vibrant market.

Day 6

Lhasa - Drepung & Sera Monasteries

Visit Drepung Monastery, once the world's largest monastery with up to 10,000 monks. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery to witness the famous monks' debating session (3-5 PM), a lively tradition where monks engage in philosophical debate with dramatic hand gestures.

Day 7

Lhasa to Shigatse to Everest Base Camp

Drive south via the Karo La Pass (5,010m), stopping at the stunning turquoise Yamdrok Lake. Continue past the Karola Glacier to Shigatse. Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery. Continue south through Lhatse to the Gawu La Pass (5,200m) for first views of Everest. Arrive at Everest Base Camp (5,200m) for sunset.

Day 8

EBC Sunrise to Shigatse

Early morning to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mount Everest's north face. After breakfast, drive back to Shigatse through the scenic Himalayan foothills. Arrive in the afternoon for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9

Shigatse to Lhasa

Return to Lhasa along the scenic Yarlung Tsangpo River valley. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours. Arrive in the afternoon. Free evening for last souvenir shopping at Barkhor Street Welcome to Lhasa! After arriving at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or the railway station, your English-speaking guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel in a private vehicle. The drive into the city takes approximately one hour, passing by the dramatic Tibetan landscape and the scenic Lhasa River valley. Upon arrival at your hotel, take it easy and allow your body to adjust to the altitude. Your guide will provide an orientation briefing about the days ahead and offer helpful tips for managing high-altitude travel.

Day 10

Depart Lhasa

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will transfer you to Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station according to your departure schedule, with plenty of time for check-in procedures. Bid farewell to the magnificent landscapes of Tibet. End of services. Tashi Delek!
