Comprehensive tour starting from the low-altitude Nyingchi region where you can acclimatize comfortably before heading to Everest Base Camp and the sacred Namtso Lake.
Fly to Nyingchi, the low-altitude region of Tibet situated at just 2,950 meters above sea level. This makes Nyingchi the ideal starting point for your Tibet adventure as the lower elevation allows for comfortable and gradual acclimatization. Your guide will meet you at the Nyingchi Airport and transfer you to your hotel, surrounded by lush forests of pine and cypress with snow-capped peaks in the distance. Take a gentle walk around the area to enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Today you will visit the stunning Basum Tso Lake, a turquoise jewel nestled among snow-capped peaks and dense forests. Known as Tibet's Switzerland, the lake is considered one of the sacred lakes of Tibet and features a small temple on its island that was blessed by the great Buddhist master Padmasambhava in the 8th century. Take a boat ride across the crystal-clear waters and hike to the temple for panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains reflected in the lake.
Scenic drive from Nyingchi to Lhasa crossing the dramatic Milha Pass at 5,018 meters, one of the highest passes on the eastern route to Lhasa.
