This private tour takes you through the stunning landscapes of eastern Tibet in Nyingchi, the ancient cradle of Tibetan civilization in Shannan, and the awe-inspiring Mount Everest Base Camp. With your own private guide and comfortable vehicle, you can explore at your own pace. The journey begins in low-altitude Nyingchi for easy acclimatization, then gradually ascends to the roof of the world at Everest Base Camp. Along the way you will visit Tibet first monastery Samye Monastery, the sacred Yamdrok Lake, and the magnificent Potala Palace.
Arrive in Lhasa by air. Your private charter driver will meet you at the airport with a name sign and transfer you to your hotel in the city center. Your driver and vehicle are at your full disposal for the entire tour, allowing you to stop whenever and wherever you wish for photos or spontaneous exploration. Rest and acclimatize to the high altitude on your first day. Stay well hydrated.
Your private charter takes you on the spectacular drive south from Lhasa across the Karo La Pass at 5,010 meters with panoramic views of the snow-capped Nyenchen Tanglha mountain range. Stop as long as you like at the stunning turquoise Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet's three holy lakes stretching 72 kilometers across the valley. Continue past the massive Karola Glacier to Gyantse to visit the magnificent Kumbum Stupa. Arrive in Shigatse at your own pace.
Your private charter continues south through dramatic mountain scenery to the Gawu La Pass at 5,200 meters for your first breathtaking views of Mount Everest north face rising 8,848 meters into the cloudless sky. Visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world at 4,980 meters. Arrive at Everest Base Camp for a spectacular sunset over the highest peak on Earth. Overnight at a comfortable guesthouse at EBC.
Early morning wake-up call at 5 AM to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mount Everest. Your driver will position the charter vehicle at the best viewpoint for photography as the first rays of sunlight paint Everest in shades of gold. After a hot breakfast, the charter takes you via the scenic northern route through the Tibetan steppe to sacred Namtso Lake at 4,718 meters. Watch the sunset over the turquoise waters of Heaven Lake. Overnight at lakeside guesthouse.
Morning at Namtso Lake for a final walk along the pristine turquoise shoreline, breathing in the pure mountain air and watching the morning light dance on the water. Your charter driver will then take you directly to Lhasa Gonggar Airport via the Nyenchen Tanglha Pass for your departure flight.
