Full day exploring Lhasa's most iconic landmarks. In the morning climb the magnificent 13-story Potala Palace perched on Marpo Ri Red Hill, the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas containing over 1,000 rooms filled with precious Buddhist art. In the afternoon visit Jokhang Temple, the holiest shrine in Tibet built in 647 AD, housing the sacred Jowo Shakyamuni Buddha statue. Walk the Barkhor kora circuit.

Visit Drepung Monastery, once the world's largest monastery with up to 10,000 monks at its peak, and Sera Monastery to witness the famous monks debating session where maroon-robed monks debate Buddhist philosophy with animated hand gestures and dramatic slapping sounds that echo through the pebble courtyard.

Scenic drive from Lhasa to Nyingchi crossing the dramatic Milha Pass at 5,018 meters. The landscape transitions from high-altitude grasslands to lush forested valleys as you descend into Nyingchi, known as Tibet's Switzerland for its green forests, rivers, and snow-capped peaks.

Full day exploring the spectacular Peach Blossom Valley in Nyingchi. During spring the valley is covered in pink and white blossoms stretching as far as the eye can see with snow-capped mountains as a dramatic backdrop. Visit local farming villages and enjoy the stunning scenery.

Visit the sacred Basum Tso Lake, a stunning turquoise jewel surrounded by snow-capped peaks and dense forests. Take a boat ride on the crystal-clear waters to visit the small temple on the lake island blessed by Padmasambhava.

Return drive from Nyingchi to Lhasa via the scenic mountain route with photography stops. Arrive in Lhasa late afternoon. Free evening for souvenir shopping at Barkhor Street Welcome to Lhasa! After arriving at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or the railway station, your English-speaking guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel in a private vehicle. The drive into the city takes approximately one hour, passing by the dramatic Tibetan landscape and the scenic Lhasa River valley. Upon arrival at your hotel, take it easy and allow your body to adjust to the altitude. After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will transfer you to Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station according to your departure schedule, with plenty of time for check-in procedures.
